Jake Berry MP Backs Ambition AXA Awards initiative
This biennial programme is an open invitation to all 11 – 18 year olds with extreme talent to nominate themselves for a generous mentoring package worth up to £40,000.
There are five categories for entry: Sport, Arts, Science, Community and Enterprise and a winner for each category, which means 5 young people will have an opportunity to further their ambition. Entries will be judged by a panel of experts and celebrities including: Camila Batmanghelidjh the founder of Kids Company, Karen Brady of Apprentice fame, Alex James of Blur, Jason Bradbury from Channel 5’s The Gadget Show, and Amy Williams the Olympic Gold Medallist
Jake commented: “This is a fantastic opportunity for ambitious young people. There will be an awards ceremony in London later this year where the celebrity panellists will present the Awards to the 5 lucky young winners.
I believe that this is a very positive scheme and a good opportunity to encourage young people in our area to showcase their talents. I hope you will join me in supporting the programme and alerting local schools and young people to this opportunity.”
Full details can be found at www.ambitionaxaawards.com, together with details on how to enter. In addition, for anyone requiring further information, the best person to contact at AXA is one of the scheme’s co-ordinators Phil Hickley via Phil.Hickley@axa.co.uk
