Jake Berry MP backs government efforts to help women
Increased child tax credit, a raise in the personal allowance and a higher minimum wage, will benefit many of the most vulnerable women in society.
And the Government is doing much more to help women and families. A cross-departmental strategy is tackling violence against women, and it is working with business to address the gender pay gap and glass ceiling.
Extra funding will provide 4,200 more health visitors, and will pay for new rape crisis centres. Flexible leave will give parents more choice over how they care for their children, and Government has extended early-years education to 130,000 disadvantaged 2-year olds.
Jake Berry said:
‘The Government has focused on a number of areas that affect women including: employment, health, welfare, childcare, education and violence against women. There are significant issues that need to be tackled such as the gender pay-gap, supporting struggling families and preventing violence against women.
The Government has a robust and cohesive strategy to deal with these issues and I am proud to stand firmly behind its implementation.’
