Jake delighted with £1.8 million funding awarded to Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council
Jake has spoken of his delight that Pennine Lancashire has been awarded all the funding that they applied for from the Housing Market Renewal Transition Fund. This was the result of the Government increasing the size of the fund by £5.5 million from £30 million to £35.5 million to help our area.
Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council has been awarded £1.8 million worth of the Housing Market Renewal Transition Fund. This initiative, announced in May by Housing minister Grant Shapps, was set up to help households in derelict neighbourhoods after the premature end of the house market renewal programme.
Jake Berry, MP for Rossendale and Darwen and Parliamentary Private Secretary to Grant Shapps said, “I am thrilled Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council won its full bid. This is a great scheme to rejuvenate some of the neighbourhoods that were left run down after Labour’s failed housing renewal plan. The fact that Pennine Lancashire has been awarded 100% of what it bid for just goes to show the Government’s dedication in helping the most vulnerable people in our society.”
