Government retains the Disability Living Allowance.
Jake has spoken of his pleasure at the Government’s decision to retain the Disability Living Allowance (DLA).
Thousands of disabled people living in residential care can breathe a sigh of relief after the Minister for disabled people Maria Miller MP, announced that the mobility component of the DLA would be maintained.
For disabled people living in residential care the mobility component is a lifeline which means they needn’t fear being prisoners in their own homes.
Jake said, “I am delighted that the Government has managed to preserve the mobility component, as for thousands of disabled people, it enables them to visit family and friends or even to travel to hospital appointments. This has come about due to a huge amount of public support which just goes to show that the Government is prepared to listen.”
