Jake Berry Takes Cancer Battle to Downing Street

Jake Berry, Member of Parliament for Rossendale and Darwen, joined Jackie Budden and other cervical cancer campaigners outside No 10 Downing Street for a chat while they handed in their petition calling for further screening of young women for cervical cancer.

Jake commented, “It was a pleasure to meet Jackie Budden, mother of Jade Goody, whose daughter’s death did more to raise awareness of the importance of cervical screening among young women than any NHS campaign. While the medical evidence on the necessity for screening under 25 is mixed, I was delighted to have the opportunity to raise the profile of this issue and to support the cancer petition.”
