Jake said, ‘I am urgently seeking to ascertain the facts surrounding the rumoured change of use of this facility. I am currently liaising with Darryl and Anne on this matter, and have written directly to the Minister involved. I will continue to monitor the situation’.
Jake would like to reassure the residents of Edenfield that he shares their concern. Next week he is meeting with Steve Robinson, Chief Executive of the Langley House Trust, to discuss this issue.
The building is in close proximity to schools, parks, and recreation grounds used by local children. It even has a public footpath running alongside it. Jake is very uneasy at the proposal to include low level sex offenders in the centre’s rehabilitation remit.
Jake said, “It seems common sense not to use this location for such offenders, and the Police and Probation Service have expressed their reservations about the suitability of this building.”
