As well as launching this important housing initiative, the government has today confirmed that the Military Covenant will now be set in law. Jake noted, ‘It is a great thing to see this government proudly legally obligating itself to support military personnel and their families.’
Jake commented, ‘There are some unique challenges facing service personnel when seeking housing. This government will ensure it plays its part in honouring the Military Covenant. I was delighted to attend today’s summit with many notable persons such as Colonel Bob Stewart MP, the Rt Hon Grant Shapps MP, the Rt Hon Andrew Robathan, General Rollo, Colonel Paul Cummings, Major General Peter V R Besgrove , the Royal British Legion and other service charities.’
Jake said ‘Homes for Heroes is a real opportunity to make practical changes that will ensure the abolition of discrimination against our armed forces in the housing sector. It has been a privilege to work towards this summit.’
